From Hershel
& Gavin...
“How did we get into this hell
hole, anyway?” Hershel eventually grumbled from his favorite recliner,
his squinted eyeballs shooting hateful darts around their immediate
surroundings. Truth be known, he wasn't particularly fond of his
further away surroundings, either.
“Maxcine and
Isabel,” Gavin grumbled with calm assurance, so that a lurking orderly
didn't get the bright idea he was about to cause a ruckus. Last time he
had instigated a ruckus, his bedtime snack of Oreo cookies and hot
chocolate had been withheld from him. For
now, he kept his gaze dead
ahead, aimed between his feet, which were elevated on the foot-rest of
his recliner. Focal point was a twitching yellow bird, whose supposed
voice wasn't in sync with its beak movement.
“Oh, yeah,” Hershel
agreed with a sigh. He, too, had noticed the orderly in their close
proximity. “They had us put here because we did something. Do you
remember what it was?”
“I
ain't sure anymore,” he flat out lied.
